Season 28, Episode 4:
Colombia/Switzerland/France
— Be still my heart, love is in bloom.
And those rascal matchmakers, Tyler and Korey, were right
there in Episode 4 doing a play-by-play as Brodie and Blair Take the first steps toward an Amazing Race relationship.
“So here we are witnessing true love in its early stages,”
giggled Korey, who had earlier let us know that Tyler wanted to be the flower
girl at Brodie and Blair’s wedding.
Tyler didn’t deny his interest in that role, and, true to
his social media roots, he launched a hashtag for the couple, #blodie. "That’s
Blair plus Brodie,” he explained, wink, wink.
Who knows if Brodie and Blair will pair up – they are
competitors,
after all. But it would be nice to have a wedding at the end of the
season, something like the wrap-up to Downton Abbey. (How you go, Lady Edith!)

Tyler and Korey |
And if there is to be a wedding, I can picture Blair’s dad and teammate, Dr. Scott,
off to the side, oblivious to the ceremony, as he plays with the Swiss Army
knife he assembled in Geneva, zipping through a Detour challenge.
“His surgeon hands went to work,
and I was his nurse assistant,” beamed Blair, proud of her poppa.

Scott assembles a Swiss Army Knife |
In choosing to put the knife
together, they avoided a challenge involving newspapers and the world’s longest
bench, and, well, it’s too hard to explain here.
Bottom line was that Brodie and
his partner Kurt, got the solution right and then seemed to tell everyone
else the number needed to get through.
Everyone that is, except the
models Brittany and Jessica, who got behind on the bench and came late to the
final challenge, one demanding some flag counting and matching that prompted an unusual amount of collaboration between the other teams.

Jessica and Brittany |
Jessica had to figure things out
on her own and, alas, she and Brittany were eliminated, taking poolsters Cindy
and Jim with them.
Brodie and Kurt finished first,
winning a mass sprint to the finish line after eight teams left the train
in the mountains of France at the same time. Second place went to Tyler and
Korey. Thus a pattern has emerged, as these two teams have finished first or
second in the last three episodes.
But, hey, who’s keeping score? The focus has shifted from the Race to #blodie. Giggle, giggle, wink, wink, we’re
witnessing love in the early stages.
Overheard:
Jessica: Blair and Brodie are about to be the new couple of the Amazing Race.
Korey: What do they speak in Switzerland, Swiss?
Burnie: What country is Switzerland in?
Blair: I think we will get to a point where teams have to work on
their own.
Jessica: It’s not that I think no one will work with me. I know no
one will work with me.
Brittany: To see all those women out there and to not help Jessica.
I was really upset.
Tyler: I love the models, but if wouldn’t be the worst thing if
they didn’t make this train.
Brittany: It just sucks to go home early.
Order of finish:
1 Brodie and Kurt
2 Tyler and Korey
3 Dana and Matt
4 Burnie and Ashley
5 Zach and Rachel
6 Erin and Joslyn
7 Sheri and Cole
8 Scott and Blair
